✴︎

I’m here to help you actually use the thoughts, ideas, and wisdom buzzing around inside you.

Whether you want help making connections and finding clarity or want a partner to collaborate with as you bring your ideas to life (or both), I’m here to help!

And not just once—after we get to know each other, I can be an on-call partner who’s already familiar with you and your business, supporting you as you keep moving and growing.

✴︎

I typically help creative small business owners in one (or more!) of three main ways:

✴︎ 1 ✴︎

I can help you find clarity among your thoughts and ideas. (Yes, really. And yes, it’s there.)

I naturally see patterns and connections among lots of thoughts, ideas, and information, then bring it into a form that feels clear, accessible, and full of possibility.

I can show you things like:

  • The possibilities your work and life hold right now, so you can see where you’d like to go next

  • The path you’re already on, even if you feel like you’re wandering around totally lost

  • The connections inherent among your thoughts and ideas (I see and trust them, even if you don’t…yet)

  • The wisdom and gifts you naturally hold, and the many ways you could claim and use them

When we work together to find clarity, I bring form to your exact words and ideas. I’ll share resources, ideas of my own, and possibilities if they arise, but a huge part of what I do is show you the brilliance inherent in all you share with me.

✴︎ 2 ✴︎

I can help you bring your big, beautiful ideas to life through co-creation and/or editing.

You don’t have to do it alone! I can help you start a project, work on something that’s already in progress, or wrap up something you’ve been longing to finish. I can do things like:

  • Talk with you about your vision, take detailed notes, and reflect back what I hear so you have a starting place to create from, whether that’s a vision statement, an outline, a document from which you can begin writing, a list of potential collaborators, and/or something else that feels supportive

  • Offer feedback, suggestions, and potential expansions or changes on your ideas and creations (for example, I’m great at seeing where ideas could turn into a worksheet, suggesting things that could enhance the user’s understanding of a concept or flow of information, and playing with things like form, structure, flow, angles, layers, etc.)

  • Write your copy and/or edit what you’ve written (for things like pace, flow, content, and clarity as well as grammar and the like) with the goal being sharing ideas and information in a way that feels true to you and supportive for the person reading or listening

  • Organize, find connections among, and/or bring form to things you’ve already written or created (like notes, materials from a course you took, blog and Instagram posts, free guides, and so on) so you can use those ideas in a fresh way or kickstart something new

  • Help explain what the thing is, how it works, who it’s for, and why you created it

  • And more!

✴︎ 3 ✴︎

And I can be an on-call partner who’s already familiar with you and your business as you move forward.

Once we’ve worked together, I love having clients return for support with ideas, projects, creations, and more (big or small!).

I’ve noticed that a lot of us (creative small business owners, that is) tend to feel alone in our businesses at times. I certainly feel it. I’m grateful to have business friends to brainstorm with, and I hope the same is true for you. But I also sometimes long for a partner, someone who could help me as I work on various projects in my business.

Once we’ve worked together, I can be a partner for you! If you write a new Instagram bio and want someone to review it, I’m here. If new clarity bubbles up and you want to talk about how it fits in with the rest of your business, I’m here. If you’re offering a class and know you’ll want support along the way as you create the materials, I’m here. If you have a brilliant idea for a new offering but it feels kinda fuzzy, or you aren’t sure exactly what it could look like, I’m here. If you want to send Voxer messages back and forth about whatever you’re working on, I’m so here.

This is one of my favorite parts of my work!

Together, we can work with and on…

  • Offerings like a podcast, service, group, product, class, workshop, deck, deck guidebook, magazine, and so on

  • Things like a resume, portfolio, proposal, and so on

  • Materials from a class you took and need to do something with

  • Client support items, like…

    • Detailed intake forms (that feel like you and get the information you truly need)

    • Education materials they receive before the work with you (what to expect, how to prepare)

    • Supportive practices you can use during your work with them (reflection questions, exercises)

    • Resources they can use once you’re done working together (how to use what you created, what to do when things arise after you’re done working together, reminders, etc.)

  • Things you’ve already created and want to build out, change, or turn into something new (like gathering blog posts and emails to find fresh connections, create a course, and the like)

  • Your website

  • A nonfiction book, like memoir, business, essays

  • Specific ideas or hazy inklings and nudges that won’t leave you alone

  • Processes and beliefs you want to investigate and/or express more clearly

  • Deepening into, shifting, better understanding, or more clearly explaining the work you do and why

  • Deep knowings that feel important but also scattered, elusive, or hard to explain in some way

  • Beliefs, vision, values, and more at the core of a business or project

  • Collaborating with other business owners to offer these services to your clients, or to help you behind the scenes as you work with clients

I’m also here for your brilliant ideas about what else we could do or work on together!

If you’re interested, the first step is a free Discovery Call. (Or you can email me if that feels better.)

On the Discovery Call, we will:

  • talk about where you are right now (what you’re feeling, experiencing, struggling with, celebrating…whatever you want to share!)

  • explore where you could use some support (you don’t need to arrive knowing this; we can find out together)

  • find some immediate clarity if possible (it often is)

  • discuss what I can offer (in context of all you’ve already shared)

  • consider where you might like to go next (whether working with me or taking other steps that feel aligned)

  • answer any questions you have

Block off about an hour for the call, though we’ll end early if we both feel energetically complete! I hope this goes without saying, but I’ll tell you if I don’t feel like we’re a fit and I will not pressure you into working with me. That feels icky to me, too.

I want to make sure you hear this: If you’re not sure what you need, but have a feeling I could help you, schedule a call! I can likely reflect back to you what I’m hearing they need, and that alone can feel like a huge sigh of relief.

If it would feel better to email me, feel free! Share whatever you’d like and I’ll get back to you soon. <3

You have this way of hearing the ideas and the undercurrent beneath the ideas, sharing my excitement, and mirroring it back to me in a slightly different way that somehow makes me feel more impressed with and clear around my own ideas. It really feeds into my excitement in a way that makes me feel more focused and less scattered than when I’m bouncing around in my own excited idea echo chamber by myself.
— Michelle Anthony LaCroix of theheartyfig.com

There’s no formula or set process for working together. I’m all about flexible frameworks.

Every person, project, and idea are different. I show up for what’s present rather than following one structure or container. And at the same time, I often process information and ideas in a similar flow.

✴︎
RECEIVE

No matter how we’re working together, I start by listening to you. This could be in conversation, it could be through reading your writing (notes, journal entries, Instagram posts, whatever you have!)—or both.

I can share prompts if that’s helpful, and I’ll guide you as needed.

I take notes and let it all sink in as I start to feel into the patterns and connections that already exist.

Sharing it all can feel like such a relief!

✴︎
REFLECT

I take a little time after receiving, then start working with all I’ve gathered. This looks different for every project, but usually includes looking for how the information all wants to fit together while keeping your voice, goals, and more in mind.

When this process feels complete, I send you the results.

This usually looks like a written document accompanied by an audio or video message in which I explain nuances and layers, offer suggestions that want to be shared verbally, call your attention to connections among the elements in the document, and so on.

✴︎
REFINE
(+ REPEAT IF NEEDED)

Unless we are working within a specific timeline, I encourage you to take as much time as you want with what I send over.

When you feel ready, we’ll talk about how everything felt, clarity you gained, new insights you had, things you’d like to change, and more.

If we’re refining and finalizing, we can also talk about what you do next. Or if we’re going deeper, we’ll repeat the entire process until the project feels complete (while honoring your budget, of course!).

So here’s how we work together.

I want our time together to flex and flow as clarity and possibility unfold.

So here’s what that looks like:

  • I charge for the exact time spent on a project at $150/hour.

  • We'll talk up front about what we hope to accomplish, some possibilities for how the work could go, and how to begin.

  • I'll update a simple spreadsheet as we go, checking in with you at regular intervals (say, every five hours of work) to make sure you've seen how many hours have been used and want to keep moving forward.

  • If we're working on a specific project, I can make a guess as to how long it might take (knowing that this isn't firm) and, if you'd like, we can also discuss a maximum amount you’d like to spend for the project. As (or if!) we approach that maximum or the project changes in scope, we can discuss what to do.

  • Either way, you’ll only get charged for the time I actually spend working on the project and you'll stay up to date on how much time I've spent on it along the way.

  • We can set up our work as:

    • A project (we’ll work together on this specific thing until it’s done, knowing the scope may shift as we go; I’ll ask for a deposit up front and invoice you for the balance at the end; payment plans are available)

    • An ongoing exchange (you come to me when you need something and I’ll invoice you each month for any hours we spent together; payment plans are also available)

I know it can feel hard not to know how much something will cost.

So here are some rough ideas of what you might expect if you’ve never worked with me before (but don’t hold these too tightly, nor let them hold you back from reaching out):

  • I might suggest we estimate the work for a two-hour call, deep reflection (I sit with all you shared and bring it into form, including any ideas, resources, and other supportive shares that arise), and a wrap-up call to finalize details and/or talk about where you go next at $1,600.

  • I might suggest we estimate the work for a few long website pages (say 2-3) at $2,000 to $3,000 and a more thorough website project at $4,000 to $5,000.

  • I might suggest we estimate the work for an oracle deck guidebook at $3,000 to $5,000.

If you have questions about how this works, or what your project might cost, we can talk about all of this on a free (no-pressure) Discovery Call!

This (as always) is exactly what I needed, even though I didn’t know how to articulate what I was even looking for. Thank you for always knowing and offering your wisdom in the beautiful ways that it shows up.
— Maggie Gentry of maggiegentry.com

Here’s what it’s like to work with me. (The word “magic” has been tossed around more than once.)

No matter how we work together, you’ll be offered:

  • Space to open up and share all that arises, feeling seen and heard by me, so you can see and hear yourself.

  • A non-hierarchical, collaborative, respectful relationship in service of you, your ideas, and your self.

  • An exercise in supported surrender as we both trust our curiosity and intuition.

  • Finding clarity in the now, so you can move forward with renewed excitement and possibility, knowing that opportunities to pause and find clarity will arise again and again.

  • Access to all the ideas, resources, and possibilities I collect as I move through the world and work with your ideas. I’m like a sponge!

  • Flexibility as we work together, so you can take your time and ask for what you need

And here are just some of things that make me great at what I do:

✴︎ I believe in you. ✴︎

The wisdom and gifts are already inside of you. My role is to help you see them more clearly so you can confidently and excitedly use them! I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to help you access the knowing you already have.

✴︎ I’m a deep listener. ✴︎

Clients often say that few people have listened as deeply (or as long) to their thoughts, ideas, and dreams. I know the glorious sense of relief that can come from being heard, and I love offering it to others.

✴︎ I offer perspective. ✴︎

I don’t have all your doubts, fears, and stories swirling around inside of me. So as I work with you and your ideas, I can show up from a place of pure curiosity and possibility. I can follow all the paths, examine all the angles and layers, and reflect things back to you in a way that feels clear, accessible, and like a deep sigh of relief.

✴︎ I naturally see patterns and connections. ✴︎

When people start talking about themselves, their ideas, their talents, their dreams, I feel the connections begin to come together deep within me. The longer I stay with them, the more I see and understand. It’s a beautiful process, and it’s one of my favorite things about my work.

✴︎ I’m an experienced writer and editor. ✴︎

I have a feel for how words and ideas fit together. When I started working for myself, I offered my services as a copy editor (one of my first clients was Kinfolk magazine!). Over time, I realized that editing is just one facet of what I want to do, but it’s still a part of how I naturally work.

✴︎ I deeply trust intuition (both mine and yours). ✴︎

I’ve learned that my intuition is a big part of my work. That’s a big part of why I charge by the hour instead of the project. I trust myself to know what’s needed as the work unfolds. I also trust your intuition, your knowing about what is right for you.

✴︎ I see each of us as individuals with our own needs, desires, and ways of working that feel most aligned. ✴︎

I also believe we each have a real need for support and connection. I aim to honor the nuances and layers that exist here, and to allow us each to be real and complex humans who are living under (even as we work to dismantle) oppressive systems. All of us is welcome here.

✴︎ I’m warm, friendly, and naturally encouraging. ✴︎

And I can also be very silly! Often, I end up being friends with my clients (though that is certainly not a requirement). I love connecting with people, hearing what they’re passionate about, and showing them beautiful truths about themselves and their ideas.

Gasp! This is so beautiful, life-giving, loving, honoring of me and my vision.

You pulled together every nuance, phrase, and wish I sent to you—no one has ever listened that closely to me before. You’ve helped me understand myself and name my work.

It was just what I needed, and I feel such heartfelt appreciation.
— M.L.

This may be for you if one or more of these things are true.

  • You feel like you’re looking at your vision, ideas, and dreams through a window…but not able to reach out and touch them.

  • You have lots of things zooming around in your head and can’t quite get them all to hang together—or feel like you don’t have the time to even try.

  • You’re longing to open up, share all that’s on your mind, and have someone see, hear, and get it.

  • You can see the possibility inherent in your thoughts and ideas but feel overwhelm (and perhaps some despair) when you think about trying to make something of them.

  • You know there are gems among all the things you’ve already written and scribbled down, but feel like you can’t or don’t know how to mine them

  • You want to create something but need help with some part of the process. You just don’t want to do it alone.

  • You’ve started working on a project but are feeling stuck.

  • You want to work in a fluid, flexible way rather than within a fixed container.

  • You’re not even sure what you need, but feel intuitively like I can help you. (This happens a lot, and I love it!)

I feel like Erica reached into my mind and pulled out the heart and soul of my brand and the work that I do with my clients. And my experience working with her was absolutely amazing. Erica is soulful and very, very articulate and has this way of making you feel like you’ve been best friends for years, so it was easy for me to open up to her and let all of my thoughts go out to her.
